After work with SweZam and special guests, Monday 7th of June at 6 pm

söndag, maj 30th, 2010

I am glad to invite you members of the Swedish-Zambian Association to an After Work with two special guests from our project in Zambia, Lisa Kafwanka and Annette Musonda from Youth club 1.

They are here in an exchange project between Zambian and Swedish youths and will now come to Stockholm to tell us about there experiences from there time in Sweden. And of course we want to get the chance to see them, now when they are this close to our hometown.

Come, get something to eat or have a drink together, get to know Lisa and Annette and listen to there story.

We meet at 6 pm at restaurant Jebena – at Kungsklippan in Stockholm.

Observe that this After Work is in a different restaurant!

Take the subway to T-Rådhuset, be seated in the end of the train from the central station (T-centralen) and exit towards Kungsklippan (I think it is called)!

New Ambassador H.E. Ms. Anne Luzongo Mtamboh was welcomed to her new ”home”

söndag, maj 30th, 2010

On 12th May the new Ambassador H.E. Ms. Anne Luzongo Mtamboh had a reception at the Zambian Embassy on the occasion of her presentation of the Credentials to King Carl XVI Gustav.

A representative for SweZam was invited and I was the lucky person to be appointed to represent SweZam. Among around 50 guests, the majority coming from other embassies, the Ambassador told she how happy she was with the experience of the ceremonial arrangement and of meeting with King Carl Gustaf.

We hope the work and life in Sweden will continue to be positive and wish the Ambassador warmly welcome to her new ”home”.

At the same time we were informed that all ours ”Kate”, Ms. Kathleen Kamwendo, leaves Sweden for Namibia at the end of June after 6 years in Sweden. After so many years in Sweden it appears like Sweden will be honoured with an extended representation in Namibia.

As much as SweZam will miss the contact with and guidance of Kate, we welcome her replacement, Ms.Molly Luombe, who, as the Ambassador, comes directly from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Lusaka.

– Independence day 2009.
– Annual General Meeting 2010.

Gå in och titta och njut av alla härliga minnen som fotona kan återskapa!

News from MEF Chaplain

Newsletter April 2010 from Adrian Hendy who spends another period as chaplain of Mindolo Ecumenical Foundation (MEF)

Once again I find myself back in Zambia for another spell as chaplain of Mindolo Ecumenical Foundation (MEF). I came back at the end of January escaping the frozen north arriving in Zambia just after the mid point of the rainy season. It was a warm welcome in every sense of the word –there was a most spectacular thunder storm just two days after I came. It was at night and remained very close for over an hour, so my house was lit up with lightening as if it was day time. The noise is indescribable . . . let’s just say it is big and loud.
